Love; the feeling that everyone wants, but many of us really know how to give and/or receive. Why? We have been so damaged that we haven’t tried to mend the holes in our heart before we dive right back into the unforgiving current of love. Drowning in the tides of lust, material, and temporary; we want love, but don’t know the true meaning of that tiny four letter word that packs a lot of power. Loving while damaged only halts the potential for love to grow and manifests itself into the beautiful gift that it was intended to be. This could be the reason why we don’t really know love and have grew out of love with love.
Exposing the damage
Every day that we are given the opportunity to wake to the world, we have to face the mirror. The mirror that bares the true essence of self and raw canvas that we don’t want the world to see. We mask our blemishes and walk the walk that all is well and life is wonder. Constantly leaving wounds untreated and our past in the dark overcast. Now with all this baggage we attach to other people to give us love, but never really doing the work to reveal all the trash that keeps blocking us from love. It’s time to finally throw away the garbage and reveal the raw footage of our worlds. That is when the holes can be filled and the renewal of love can begin.
We can’t continue to walk around damaged while causing the potential to damage other people. Two damaged hearts don’t always make a beautiful love story. It takes work and venerability to expose what has or still haunts us from experiencing true love. Letting go of the past clears the way for love to come in and work in the way it was intended to. Just think about it. 
The sun doesn’t shine through a dirty window. Once the window is clean and free of filth, the sun shines better than ever before and the picture is clear. Begin to expose your damage and clear the fog; peeling off the layers to feel your heart beat again and feel the love that has been drowning for years.
Self-Love
Stop loving yourself last and pouring love into everything, but YOU! How do you expect to love or be love if the love you have for yourself is damaged and blue. It won’t work! Valuing yourself is a major part in valuing others. We have a bad habit of wanting others to love us when we have zero love for ourselves. We want others to tell us how we feel about ourselves, but lacking the ability to accept and love self. Pause for a second and clear your head space. Head to a mirror, take a deep breathe, and begin to notice all the things you love about yourself. Eliminate what others love about you and focus on what you love about yourself. You should begin to realize all the beauty that exists, because it’s there. I believe we just forgot how to love ourselves flaws and all. Love doesn’t exist if we don’t love ourselves. It’s like competing in a race and already coming in defeated, believing you can’t win. The race is already lost, because you have mentally checked out. Find what you love and continue to love everything that is YOU!
Stop being scared to love
After the work has been done, it is time to start to love without fear. Knowing that love is complex and isn’t always sweet. It will take work, but the feeling of loving and being loved respectfully is a beautiful feeling. Stop referring to love as a horror story and look at it as suspense. Waiting to see what unfolds and how love will work for you. Eliminate the negative associations you have for love and open up your heart, because it should now be whole. The holes that tormented you for so long, should be filled and pumping rich feelings of love. Breakdown that wall of fear and doubt that love won’t work out. Love is always knocking and now it’s time to be ready to answer the door.
I’ve always wanted love (relationship), but have been scared of love due to wrong love, cheating love, confused love, lustful love, and love that did me completely wrong. Knowing that love is more than looks and material; I am ready to love and be loved completely by that one special person forever. When love greets me I will be ready, but I promise my love will not settle for anyone who isn’t providing me all the love I need. Love I am ready and when you reveal that one for me; I promise I will love endlessly.
