Men in Rompers don’t make them GAY!!

20170516165330-romerhim2Fashion trends and topics on style have been taboo for the ultra-masculine, gender specific man. For decades the men’s fashion has transformed into gender bending trends and style that are deemed unacceptable for the straight-gay. Straight legs, meggings, and now the romper push the need for style difference too far for those who can’t see past the baggy jeans, over-sized Jersey, and Jordan sneakers. The new trends seem to force those who dare to see past the manly standards into being classified as metro, confused, or just plain out GAY. I never understood how one’s personal style code determined there sexual preference. Now that Men’s Rompers have been a summer item must have the war on the misuse of the word GAY has become more prevalent than ever. I guess the queer eye for fashion is just too much for the straight guy.

The history of the Romper does begin with the ladies, but it has been updated to reflect the confident man who isn’t shame to bare his legs. If we recall the romper is similar to the Dickies jumpsuits we use to run and purchase. Never working in an auto shop or warehouse we wore them anyway; forgetting that they too are considered rompers just a little irregular and dreadful to every adorn the cover of GQ. These rompers are stylish and creatively edgy, but make a statement that says “I’m masculine and not afraid to make a bold statement”. 49252f45012210d9a7a62c9197a57dc1--quotes-for-men-great-quotes

As people evolve, so do the perception of gender roles. What was deemed hyper masculine 20 years ago has changed in 2017. We have observed the evolution of the Men’s suit to be one that accents his body instead of guarding it behind unnecessary amounts of bulky fabric. The confident and secure man has been able to wear his clothes more fitted, so that he too can be complimented on his physique instead of it being a hidden treasure. Today’s man, not all men are now more interested in GQ, Vogue, and Details that provide monthly fashion advice for the guy who is forever evolving his style. Hot items like Skinny jeans and Capri length slacks have been the fashion-forward-guys go to for that in the office to the Happy Hour spot fashion outlook. These conscious men don’t all consider themselves homosexual, instead they are a part of an special breed of men who don’t give a @#$% about the fashion style guides that were developed by cavemen in 500BC.

The romper is not different from the overalls we place on babies or the orange jump suits we see the men in the county prison adorn on the daily. Although one is fashionable the other isn’t, we call the babies look adorable, but would think twice to let a man who is serving 10 years to life know that his everyday uniform is far too homo. That would be grounds to serve you the beating of your life and thinking twice about making such a misconception about another inmate in sight. 1d57afb1fced8db5fff6ed2fc5130795 We judge a man for being too polished or neat and laugh at the guy who takes pride in a good pleat. Wearing a man’s romper is like wearing an onesie and no one had a thing to say when Bieber and Usher wore them proudly. I guess we also overlooked Lil Wayne’s need for a tighter fight of his skinny jeans or the colorful looks of the famous football players who are too broad for their narrow seams. Girls went crazy when Kidd Cudi and Will Smith rocked cropped tops. Back in the day they would have been high-fived and hand clapped for having all the girls in their flock. We laugh at the GAY guy because a look that breaks the man code barrier is far too much for you to gather, but ones difference of style is not a reason to hate and label him feminine.

The search is on for me to find a romper that fits my style and look I want to offer. I could care less of your homophobic opinions of how or what I chose to display on this living canvas that slays many men by the hour. It’s funny that I will be classified as all of the above, because I choose to rock with the rompers and dispose of your man code bible that doesn’t reflect us all.
