The BEST Life

I’m going to live and do all I can until I can no longer. This is the conversation I constantly have with myself to motivate myself to live faster, stronger, and wilder. I dare not to be too wild, because I am a play by the rules, color in the lines, safety first player in this game called life. At times, I think I’m moving too fast, but according to the playbook I am moving slow and watching the grass grow around me. It’s like I’m the snail believing that slow and steady will win this race, but that doesn’t apply to life.  Just a few days ago I was asked “Are you living your best life?” Always quick to respond to questions about life, I said yes, but then it hit me I was NOT living my best life. I was still depending on the guidelines and the rule book on how every stage of life should be and that wasn’t living; it was existing in the norms. My best life was yet to be experienced.icH-0ppR

Sometimes we think; no we know that we are living the best life, but those with the best lives never live with doubts or regrets. They are the ones who boldly go after dreams. Take risks even if they end in hurt. Living without questioning and contemplating choices. Basically, living each as if it were they last. They also color outside the lines; leaving room for errors. Creating a beautiful mess of life from beginning to end. A masterpiece hard to duplicate, because it was their original best life that one could never recreate. Why are we afraid to live this way? Who has told us that life had to follow a road map and that every rule had to be follow? Learning to live by always proceeding with caution.

Life is a fast and bumpy road, but we try to control it instead of fastening our seat belts and letting life run its course. There are ways to live your best life, but you have to be willing to put forth the effort to make these things routine. Here are ten (10) simple suggestions to living life as best as you can:

1. Be in the moment – each minute of an hour in each in everyday is a chance to create a moment. There are moments to learn, grow, and realize the life around you and create new way to magnify the life you are living. Create the moments that design your quilt of memories and inner perfection.

2. Make dreams reality – I dream of being… My dream is to….WAKE UP! Face those dreams and make them reality. Live in those dreams and stop waiting for night to replay those dreams that you can never seem to make come true. If you can imagine it; it is possible.

3. Take Risk – I’m not a risk taker, but I’m learning to jump and see what happens. If I fall, I know I have to courage to dust myself off and jump again. It may not happen the first, second, or the third time, but by the fourth time the technique is perfected and I am ready to be a risk it all seeing the reward at the end.

4. Reflect – Take it all in. Silence yourself and journal your thoughts. See your success. Determine what has work and what hasn’t. See yourself in your BEST LIFE.

5. Only Compete with yourself – I see no man as competition. Those who compete with others aren’t living. Your goal is to be a better you than you were yesterday. Competing to be better than someone else will continue to leave you running and chasing someone else’s life, instead of admiring your own.

6. Gratitude – those who are grateful appreciate life’s ups and downs. They are prepare for the fight even if they do not have all the tools needed to successfully win. This attitude of gratitude lets you know that you are greater than great, because you appreciate the big, the small, and the not so good at all.

7. Laugh – You look so much better when you smile. Life feels so much better  when you smile. The down moments don’t predict your outcome and should never cease the muscles in your face that are responsible for that smile. Stop taking yourself so serious!

8. Stop escaping – life provides a new door to venture through every day we are blessed to rise. It is up to us to never avoid new opportunities, facing our fears, or being so caught up in self that life slips away. No more escaping what is there for you to explore. You don’t want to look back on a list of shouldas, couldas, wouldas…step away from that solace place and live!

9. Embrace failure – failure provide new perspective on how to achieve goals a different way. This process is humbling and builds the champion in you.  Your best life is based on how well you deal with the failures while turning them into great victories.

Living your BEST life is basically up to you. The tips are just that. Tips to provide you with ways to elevate life according to your standards and how AMAZING you want it to be. Remember to live and never stop living!
