The Best Gift of All.

With Christmas approaching, I know many of you like myself have developed your Christmas list and checked it more than twice. Whether you were naughty or nice you have decided that you deserve exactly what you want to make your holiday season bright. As you stroll through the department stores looking for that perfect gift to put under your tree for yourself and others you beam with holiday excitement as you purchase gifts while increasing the holiday cheer. Before we send of our list, buy the gifts, and settle to unwrap them; lets make sure we include one thing……a meaningful relationship with God. Jesus is by far the most perfect Christmas gift we will ever receive.

We all know the song Jesus is the reason for the season and how important it is to celebrate him during this precious time of the year. God has given us many gifts and at times we forget to embrace the gift of having a God who looks high and low, while never forgetting to bless and protect us. This holiday season it is he who supplies us with the means to place smiles on others faces and have the gesture returned in a special way. As we engage in holiday traditions we forget that God is a tradition that should never be underestimated or neglected. He is the beautiful giving gift of all.

As a child of God, we have gifts with our names written on them under our Father’s forever bright and perfectly decorated Christmas tree. The gifts he has for us are more valuable and more precious than anything money could buy. Let’s think of what he has already blessed us with here on earth. I know I can’t stop thanking him for the gift of Dance. This ability has provided me with joy, purpose, financial stability, and the gift of re-gifting. I am able to pass on a gift God has given me to those who I teach year to year. Because these gifts are freely given by God, these cannot be earned or merited based on mans terms, but though  manifestations of the purpose God has arranged for our lives. That is a gift more valuable than any jewel, electronic, or Jordan sneaker that might be sitting under our Christmas Trees.

So as we wrap our gifts in pretty paper and bows, lets not forget these free gifts from the man above:

The Gift of Christ Himself

The Gift of Individual Personal Abilities

The Gift of Confident Love

The Gift of Life Abundantly

The Gift of Purpose

This holiday season I wish you all the best and pray that you continue to appreciate the Gift of God and seek him first. For he is the greatest gift of all.
