Decision!?!? I believe we make about a million a day. Starting from whether to hit the snooze button on the alarm clock or what we intend to have for dinner. Every situation involves a decision. Today’s prompt (well Nov. 1 prompt) asked me about my best decision, which forced me to think about all my recent decisions. You know making decision are extremely difficult for me especially those that involve things that are of value to me. Like in this moment I am going back and forth with myself about what decision I feel is best; the one i’m glad I made; the one that will win the ultimate prize of greatest decision made. Well here goes nothing. Drum roll please…..the decision that I am glad I made was to begin living life based on what makes me HAPPY. Placing my happiness at the forefront of all life choices and how I spend my time. My motto is: If it doesn’t make me happy I am not interested in being a part. Yes to Happiness! Sorry Ms. Rhimes I didn’t mean to steal your words, but I needed to borrow them in order to truly live this way.
My decision to be happy. Happy! Do we honestly know what happiness is? The feeling, the thought, the action of simply being happy. Happy isn’t an easy action. It’s quite complex and requires a lot of discipline to fully grasp the concept. Deciding to be happy meant that I would have to choose me first each and every time I made a decision. Sounds kind of selfish, yet it should be. It’s how we should live this life…happy…because we have placed ourselves in situations that bring us nothing but genuine joy and benefit. I mean think about it…would you be happy with living a life of it will get better tomorrow…I will do that next year….or I will make the best of it. No! Making the best of a situation that has no prediction of happiness isn’t going to jump start your march towards being truly happy. You are defending yourself with a weak army which will inevitably destroy you.
My happiness journey has involved:
Embracing myself for who and what I AM.
Happiness becoming my addiction. I must be HAPPY!
To be happy was to make others happy. (Sharing a SMILE)
Accepting mistakes and failure as a lesson and not a step-up.
Throwing away life’s garage.
Increasing positive thoughts about my life and the things I allow in.
Being THANKFUL for each morning and each blessing.
Remember that Happiness is our biggest asset. It’s your SUPERPOWER. Use it and watch wonders begin to happen. It’s the most expensive decision I have made without spending a dime.
